2016 EKOLU LEAGUE

This is a mixed doubles league for men and women 18 years of age or older by year-end.  League season is September - November (Saturdays*).  The NTRP levels of play are combined 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0.  The NTRP difference between doubles partners may not exceed 1.0, and the combined NTRP level of the doubles partners may not exceed the level at which the team is competing (i.e., 7.0 doubles partners could be a combination of two 3.5 players, or a 4.0 player with a 3.0 partner, or a 3.0 player with a 3.5 partner).

A team match consists of: (1) men's doubles; (1) women's doubles and (1) mixed doubles matches. The match format is: Best of two sets, regular scoring, set tiebreak (first to 7 by a margin of 2) at 6-all, with a match tiebreak (first to 10 by a margin of 2) in lieu of a third set. The switching of sides for service during any tiebreak shall follow the Coman Tiebreak Procedure.

Move Up/Split Up: 2015 Ekolu League section champions must move up one level as a team or disperse to form new teams with no more than three players who were on the final roster at the conclusion of local league play on any single team for the 2016 Ekolu league season. Refer to HPS Rules & Regulations 2.06A

2015 Ekolu Championship Players

Flight playoffs will be single elimination when there are two or more flights in a playing level. Winners of the flight playoffs will advance to section championships.  Refer to ODTA League Rules & Regulations 26.

The minimum number of players on a team is 3 men and 3 women, maximum 16 players.  The League fee is $26 per player.

* Some Sunday matches may be required.

Cell phones and other electronic communication devices may not be used anytime during a match (including warm-up, change-overs and set breaks).

League Timeline 

  • Team Registration:  July 3 - August 3 at 6pm.

  • Player Registration on TennisLink:  July 3 - September 2 at 6pm.
    Requests for deadline extension should be emailed to the Coordinator before September 4.  Notify the Coordinator of any player whose self-rating or medical appeal decision is pending.
     
  • Minimum Roster Deadline:  August 7 - (3) men and (3) women.
    No transfers of players between teams after this date.  Requests for deadline extension should be emailed to the Coordinator before August 7.
     
  • Reserve A Court Deadline: August 7.  Court Usage fee $50
