The following information is provided for all 2007 ODTA Mixed Doubles Tennis League
captains to review with their players. Please read it thoroughly as there are changes to
procedures that were used in prior years.

Web Access: Tennis Link (http://national.usta.com) used to register players and report
match scores as well as enabling captains to view rosters and match results. New ODTA
website: www.oahu.usta.com will post league information (schedules, timelines, update for the
season, etc.).

Levels of Play: Play will be conducted at the following combined NTRP levels. 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0
and 10.0. All players must have a current NTRP rating prior to playing their first match. New
2007 Rule: The NTRP difference between partners of each doubles team may not exceed 1.0.
Player Eligibility and Rating: All players must reach their 19th birthday by December 31, 2007
and be a current USTA member through the end of the season. Players may sign-up for USTA
membership via Tennis Link (http://national.usta.com) or by calling 1-800-990-8782. Player
ratings are verified accessing ratings on (http://national.usta.com) website. Computer
generated ratings from the 2004 through 2006 match seasons (Note change: three years vs.
five) will be valid ratings for 2007 league play. Players with a computer rating must enter at
that NTRP level or higher. Players who do not have a computer rating (generated within the
last three years) shall self-rate themselves in accordance with the national tennis rating
program (NTRP) guidelines and declare their self-rating on Tennis Link by answering on-line
questions prior to registering. Please note that the on-line questions ask multiple items in a
single question. Even if four of the five listed items would be answered “No”, if any one answer
is “Yes” (in particular, ranked junior questions),.then you must answer “YES” to the question.

Team Registration, Rosters and Fees: Each team captain will be assigned a team number
prior to registering (you must submit a captain’s info sheet in order to receive this team
number). Players may begin registering with Tennis Link on January 12th and teams must have a
six player minimum registered by February 1st. The Tennis Link system will assess a $2
registration fee ($3 after 1/22/07) as well as an $18/$17 Mixed Doubles League fee (total of
$20) at the time of registration. A player needs a valid USTA membership number (valid
through May 31, 2007) and charge card number in order to register. Teams will be limited to
14 players. Roster changes can be made only via Tennis Link until March10th.
Sponsored Teams: If your team has a sponsor that would prefer to pay one check to Oahu
District Tennis Association for tax purposes, please indicate so on the captain’s information
sheet. Therefore, as your players register in Tennis Link, only the $2/$3 registration fee will
be charged per player (which cannot be omitted). The deadline for sponsor payment is
February 2nd. Checks should be payable to ODTA – Mixed Doubles League and mailed to
Norene Wong, 737 Bishop Street, Suite 1600, Honolulu, HI 96813. Please note that
sponsored teams are in a separate registration category in Tennis Link and will have to merge
with the other teams in appropriate divisions prior to the end of registration. At that time,
any player registering will be charged $20. If you prefer not to pay the $20 and get
reimbursed, please contact local league coordinator.

Home Courts: Team Captains may request the use of “Home” courts for league play. Requests
should be submitted on the Captain’s Information Sheet and an authorization letter from the
Facility Manager should be attached. Facilities being utilized should have a minimum of three
(3) courts available for your matches. Use of public park courts as Home courts is not
authorized.

Sectional Championships: The 2007 Mixed Doubles Tennis League Championships will be held
June 9-11, 2007 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Each division will send one team for every six teams or
major fraction thereof in their division. Note that a player must play at least two matches
during the local league season in order to qualify to play in any championships.

Internet Access: Updates for league information such as schedules (do not reference Tennis
Link match schedule information) is posted on the Oahu District Tennis Association’s website –
www.oahu.usta.com. Please use Tennis Link (http://national.usta.com) for printing blank score
cards, entering completed match scores, printing team rosters, viewing team standings and
match results. Tennis Link is a very user-friendly program, however, if you read through the
Tennis Link Instructions provided and would like some assistance, please call the phone number
or email below with your questions. Helpful reminder: Tennis Link, like most computer
programs, can have momentary glitches from time to time. If you have trouble in Tennis Link,
in any situation (registering, retrieving info, etc.) please try again. If it does not work a
second time, wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists, double check your
computer settings and try again in a few hours. From personal experience, most of the time
the glitches are temporary. If you feel the problem is being persistent, please send an email
to the address below with the specific steps you took and what you are trying to accomplish.
Contacts: General Questions – call 955-6696 ext. 32 and leave a message or send an email to
